A friend of mine thought she might be interested in this event with a record-breaking??? 1,000 singles, open bar, billiards and other games, tarot card readings and other antics.  Plus $2 from each ticket goes to the Humane Society...how sweet.

But, then she looked more closely...

137 females to 47 males--really?  This might actually be worse than the usual NYC numbers.  Where are these fools advertising?  Clearly not here.  Why don't they follow google's example and throw a pair of these on the invite...

Just please don't sell a ticket to this guy. 

UPDATE: Now, all 500 female tickets have been sold and the men have rallied to buy 250 tickets.  Progress, but slow.  At least my friend could still get some free drinks and wallop some folks at the pool tables.

I was updating my iPhone apps recently.  I was about to click "update all" until I looked more closely at the list

 

First, the iPhone tries to give me STDs, and now it's messing with the Declaration of Independence?

Minor interface enhancements?  I think we're in the clear for now, but, Apple, I'm keeping an eye on you...

Interestingly though, 29.22% of all bloggers are in the U.S., and 50.9% are women.  Not sure about the dog in the picture though...

Jury Duty Sock Experiment

So, I finished up my second day of jury duty, and now I'm exempt for years.  Huzzah!

I don't know what it was about me, but I didn't make it onto a jury.  I would have been okay serving for a few days, but anything more woudl be troublesome. 

Was it luck?  Was it something I said?  I'll never know, but I do have one idea...

The crazy sock hypothesis!

Would a lawyer want someone wearing these on the jury?
